Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do you have internet access?

A: The library currently offers free Wi-Fi access within the building, as well as 1-hour public access computers. To connect to our Wi-Fi, select 'SPL Public Access Wireless'.

Q: Do you send faxes?

A: Yes! The library can receive faxes (50 cents per page) and send faxes ($1.00 per page in-state or toll-free, $2.00 per page out-of-state).

Q: Can I sign up for a library card online?

A: Yes! You can sign up online on the Get a Card page. You will still need to bring your photo ID and proof of residence to activate your account. You may also sign up for a library eCard online.

Q: What do I need to get a library card and what does it cost?

A: Library cards are free! All you need to do is bring a current valid form of ID (not expired/about to expire), and a recent form of proof of address (that isn't your ID) when you sign up. We accept all valid and current forms of government-issued ID, and for proof of address we will accept vehicle registrations, bill/bank statements (both physical and electronic), voter registrations, or anything similar that is official.

Q: I HAD A CARD A LONG TIME AGO, CAN I STILL USE it at THE LIBRARY?

A: Please call the library or visit in person to check your account status! If you're unsure and plan to visit in person, please bring the required paperwork for a new card (valid photo ID and proof of address) along with you just in case.

Q: My question isn't listed here/I'd like more information. How do I contact you?

A: Call the library during open hours, or stop by and ask in person at the front desk! You can also check out our Contact page.
